(AP) Governor Ehrlich will travel to Princess Anne on Thursday to veto the so-called "Wal-Mart bill."

The bill would require the retailer to spend more on health care for its employees or put more money into the state's Medicaid fund.

Ehrlich chose the Somerset County site because he says if the bill becomes law, it might cause Wal-Mart to delay construction of a planned distribution center on the Lower Eastern Shore. He says that would take jobs away from an area that needs them badly.

The bill would require all companies in Maryland with more than 10,000 employees to spend at least eight percent of payroll on health care or pay the difference into the Medicaid fund.

Wal-Mart is the only employer of that size in the state that doesn't meet the eight percent figure.

~Rob

Wal-Mart Closing A Store!

There was recently an article about a Wal-Mart in Canada that will be closing. It seems that some employees have signed up with a labor union and of course the union wants some things to change. Let's see...how about WAGES! So, since Wal-Mart won't be able to (isn't willing to) pay the higher wages, they have decided to close the store. I guess you wouldn't want to pay people what they are really worth, instead of poverty wages.

It's amazing how Wal-Mart deals with things. Since they can't get the union out, we'll just close the store. We don't like our employees and since you can't give us more profit, you are just going to lose your job. At Wal-Mart, when someone leaves, it takes a while for them to replace that employee. When you ask Management why they have not found anyone for that position, they tell you that the applicants they have had didn't meet the standards they were looking for.

So, there were nights, when I was not just the Automotive Man, I was all of the following: Automotive Man, Toy Man, Hardware Man, Sporting Goods Man and also Lawn & Garden Man. And if you don't get your work done in your department, they wonder why?

I guess that's enough Wal-Mart bashing for now. That much most customers know. What they don't know is that when you work for Wal-Mart, you are trained and work in one department. I was in Automotive. But, customers figure that since you have on a blue Wal-Mart garment, you know every product that is in the store and exactly where it is located.

If customers would use a little common sense, they would understand that no one employee could ever know where every product is and if it is carried by Wal-Mart.

Remember, part of Wal-Mart's way of getting your money is to move everything around so that when you come back the next time for that one thing you want, you can't find it. This way, you pick up 10 other things you never intended on buying and probably really don't even need. Guess what...they just got you again.

This is another reason that I feel it can be much cheaper if you do your shopping online instead of in a Wal-Mart store. I don't mean at Wal-Mart.com either. Number one on the list is someone that a lot of people give a hard time. There are a lot of people that don't like Bill Gates, but he has given $27 Billion dollars to charities so far. That is 53% of his net worth.

Number 10 on the list of givers was the Wal-Mart Family. They have given only $1 Billion dollars to charities. Get 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in peoples carts when they aren't looking.

2. Set all the alarm clocks in House wares to go off at 5-minute intervals.

3. Make a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to the rest rooms.

4.
